they r probably normal sock or maybe a bit thicker and go up to the knees. just a little marketing gimmick to get ppl to buy them. you should have bought one and found out urself its a very normal sock. hope u liked ur stay in Muscat.
i think you'll find it referenced in a hadith somewhere, allowed to be worn in mosques, ( mainly by arabs in the uk ) thick leather as described above, and keeps ur 5 little piggies warm!

I'll go with that Kay has to say...
If they are what I think they are, they are found EVERYWHERE in the world as knee length normal socks.
People tend to do anything to sell their ideas or products. :D
